Moon Sweepers Co-op: 16 Players, Private Upgrades
Moon Sweepers lets up to 16 people share an online co-op lobby on Steam. The wallet is shared. The brushes, vehicles, and upgrades are not. That split is the main reason recent reviews call multiplayer frustrating.
What the store page promises
Online co-op lobbies, up to 16 players, and single-player. The platform flags are Windows on Steam. There is no cross-platform tag, no console version, and no dedicated-server line in the store copy. Cross-play is not available.
How you join is not documented. One thread asks whether there is a lobby browser or only invites. Nobody from the developer answered on that thread as of October 24, 2026.
The rule that makes groups angry
JimSum wrote that multiplayer is “virtually unplayable” because each player buys upgrades individually, including upgrades that change economy and logistics. Threads titled “Not sharing upgrades and tools in coop” and “pls fix coop” match that. AUBE’s crash post adds that items are not shared either, only currency.
Plan the wallet out loud. One person buys the belt and the depot upgrades. Everyone else buys a personal brush. If you all buy the same logistics upgrade, the group pays for it once per person.
| Shared? | What | Who said so |
|---|---|---|
| Yes | Money | JimSum review; three threads; AUBE |
| No | Tools, vehicles, upgrades | Same sources |
| No | Items in inventory | AUBE discussion post |
| No | Cross-play | Steam platform flags, Windows only |
Stability, from the same week
Some groups report crashes every few minutes. Others say the session is fun and the upgrade rule is the only sour note. Conveyor mergers are worse for people who joined than for the host: the host’s merger works, the client’s does not. If you build belts, have the host place the merger.
Solo is supported. One player described playing alone as relaxed. A short review said solo numbers feel stuck. I am leaving both on the page because I cannot retest them.
Questions
Can I play Moon Sweepers solo?
Yes. Single-player is on the store page. Players describe it as slower than a group, and one short review disliked the solo pace.
Is there cross-play with consoles?
No console version exists as of October 24, 2026, so there is no cross-play to join.
Is there a public lobby browser?
Not confirmed. A player asked and the thread has no developer answer. Invites are the only method people describe with confidence.
