Moon Sweepers Money: How Lunar Dust Gets Paid

You make money in Moon Sweepers by turning lunar dust into a launched shipment. The store page describes that loop. It does not publish a payout formula, and I will not invent a dollars-per-hour number.

The path that is actually documented

Official copy: collect dust, deliver it to a depot, launch the shipment, get paid, then buy tools and carrying capacity. Players add a second path. A conveyor into the main hub sells dust on its own. A port beside the garage can pull dust off a vehicle and onto that belt.

The vending machine has a side opening that accepts a belt, according to the auto-sell request thread. Without the belt, players stand at the machine and press E and F over and over.

Numbers players cite, and where they clash

One 16.9-hour review says processed goods top out around seven times the price of raw dust. That is a single measurement. I am not treating it as a rate card.

Sand conversion is unresolved. One post says 20 crates of dust become 5 crates of sand that sell for the value of 15 dust crates, a loss. Another says 5 kg of dust equals 5 kg of sand, a wash. Run a small batch yourself before you commit a line to sand.

Stone and sand sent by conveyor do not auto-sell, players report. Only plain dust does. Containers that reach a base port can also vanish without a credit. Both are open bugs as of October 24, because the news feed has zero patch notes.

A practical order while the formula is missing

Sell raw dust on a direct belt to the hub before you build a processing chain. Add machines only after a small test batch pays more than the dust you put in. Demolition returns about 75% in player reports, so a wrong processor costs a quarter of its price.

Questions

Is there an official lunar dust price?

No public price list as of October 24, 2026. The store page describes the loop and stops there.

Does processing always make more money?

Players disagree on sand. One measured a loss, another a wash. Test a small batch before you scale it.

Why did my conveyor delivery pay nothing?

Players report stone and sand not auto-selling, and containers disappearing at the port. See the conveyor page for the workarounds they posted.
